Patient associations

Many associations and teams of volunteers work within the ICM throughout the year to bring comfort and listen to our patients.

Hérault Committee of the League against Cancer

It belongs to the federation of 103 departmental committees of the National League against cancer. Its missions are organized around support for research, help for patients and their families, as well as information on prevention and screening. The Committee offers many services to patients.

DELL

Every Thursday, about 30 volunteers, employees of the Dell company, go to the medical wards to provide support and entertain patients who want it.

Cancer Support France

Cancer Support France - Languedoc offers personalized support and linguistic, emotional and practical support to English-speaking patients or their loved ones affected by cancer. This free service is provided by a team of volunteers trained in active listening by the association.

Hérédité et cancer

Hérédité Cancer

Hérédité Cancer est une association de loi 1901, dont l’objectif est d’informer, de sensibiliser le public sur les prédispositions génétiques au cancer, de rendre le test génétique accessible au plus grand nombre et aussi d’améliorer la qualité de vie des patients atteints d’un cancer et leurs aidants au sein de l’ICM et en dehors. 
Une permanence sera prochainement mise en place les mardis et jeudis au petit local dédié aux associations de patients dans le bâtiment B à l'ICM.

JALMALV Montpellier

Volunteers from the JALMALV association support palliative care patients and their families. This support is characterized by a quality of presence, non-judgmental listening and support, with full respect for confidentiality and professional secrecy.

Claude Pompidou Foundation

The Claude Pompidou Foundation is recognized as being a public utility. At the ICM, the team is made up of around ten volunteers who work with hospitalized patients in surgery and medicine. They are present on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon. The volunteer, recognizable by his yellow badge, acts in a dynamic of support and brings moral comfort to hospitalized people.

Oncodéfi est une association dédiée à la prise en charge optimale des cancers chez les personnes déficientes intellectuelles. L'association a 3 missions : accompagnement, information et recherche.

Vivre Comme Avant (Live like before)

Vivre Comme Avant (Live like before)

The Vivre Comme Avant association is run by women volunteers who have experienced breast cancer and who support women who, in turn, are affected by this.
disease. It is this experience and the individual encounter with the patients that make the association so unique and rich. They work in the surgical department on Thursday afternoons and can meet with people who wish in other departments: consultation, outpatient surgery, day hospital.

Network patients

The Network Patients Association was created in February 2014 based on lived experiences. It brings together patients and relatives and relies on multidisciplinary scientific committees.
The association's vocation is to develop secure, useful and reliable social networks by putting the patient at the heart of the project in order to promote concrete links, facilitate access to local professionals and to scientific reference information.

L’Escale Bien-Être de la Ligue contre le cancer

C’est un lieu non médicalisé ouvert aux personnes atteintes de cancer et à leurs proches. Des bénévoles et professionnels proposent des activités (sophrologie, réflexologie, relaxation, yoga, activités physiques adaptées, conseil) dans une ambiance d’écoute et de réconfort. 
4 antennes existent au niveau du département : Montpellier, Béziers, Gignac et Bédarieux.

Association for the Development of Palliative Care Montpellier Hérault - ASP MH

Volunteers work with patients and their families to support them. Through their regular presence, they provide them with benevolent listening and support in discretion and confidentiality. The aim is to fight against the isolation of vulnerable people or those around them.

BRCA France

BRCA (BReast Cancer) is a national association of people concerned with a high family risk of breast and ovarian cancer. The goal is to share experiences as well as support people who carry this mutation without being sick. People contact the association via the website and meet a volunteer to discuss.

Entre Ciel et Mer (Between Sky and Sea)

The Entre Ciel & Mer association supports post-breast cancer women on sailing trips, to regain self-confidence, rebuild and bounce back towards a new life course full of En Vies. These are privileged moments, in the Mediterranean and the Atlantic, with 6 crews per year. The association is based in Saint-Jean-de-Védas.

Etincelle

The Etincelle association is a multidisciplinary support center for women with cancer. Many services are offered free of charge: wellness treatments (beauty treatments, massages, reflexotherapy, etc.), advice (psychological support, nutritional advice, etc.) and activities (adapted physical activities, cooking workshop, tai chi, etc.) .

Le jour d’après (The day after)

The association's mission is to improve the quality of personal and professional life of people with chronic illnesses, including cancer. Support is free, and is conducted by professional, supervised coaches. The association is based in Montpellier but the ambition is national.

Des Etoiles Dans La Mer

Des étoiles dans la Mer est une association pour lutter contre le Glioblastome, tumeur cérébrale incurable à ce jour. Elle est constituée de bénévoles soignants et non soignants, de malades, aidants, familles, amis. Ses objectifs sont de financer la recherche médicale, d'aider et soutenir les familles et de sensibiliser l’opinion publique.

ARTC Sud

L’association ARTC Sud a pour vocation première est d'apporter un soutien financier à la recherche dédiée aux tumeurs cérébrales et de répondre de manière réactive aux besoins ponctuels des chercheurs. Elle apporte son aide aux patients et à leurs proches par une écoute, des informations, de la sophrologie, de la socio-esthétique…

Culte

Un lieu de recueillement dédié à tous les cultes est situé au rez-de-jardin du bâtiment B. Il est accessible en permanence pour les patients et leurs proches. 
Une liste des représentants des différents cultes avec leurs coordonnées est affichée dans chaque service de soins et disponible aux accueils A et B.
A la demande, les représentants des cultes peuvent venir à la rencontre des patients et de leurs proches dans les services de soin.
